SCA member James Brown of Baltersan Castle is behind the creation of a new long distance path 'The Pilgrim's Way' which will link Paisley Abbey with Whithorn Priory.
The route will take in religious sites such as Crossraguel and Glenluce Abbeys but what will interest castle lovers is that the road will follow that taken by Mary Queen of Scots in 1563 and will take in her overnight stops at the castles of Seagate, Dunure, Ardmillan and Ardstinchar. Other castles on the path are Baltersan and Dunskey.
The Pilgrim's Way will open in 2013.
