Barcaldine Castle was built between 1601 and 1608 and is an excellent example of a vaulted, L shaped tower of the period.
Long derelict Barcaldine provides an early example of a a tower house being saved from ruin. Restoration began in 1887 and was complete by 1911.
Still in occupation and it doubles as a B & B.
