Jennifer Merredew

The Laird's room at New Build Scottish Castle - Craigietocher

Decorative Artist of Period Scottish Castle Painted Ceilings and Beams

Jennifer Merredew is a fine artist specialising in murals and decorative artwork. She has a broad range of work and styles. Jennifer has painted traditional ceilings for many of Scotland's grandest houses and castles, several of which have been public commissions.
Jennifer is equally happy to carry out private work, decorating all the rooms in the house from the most ornate reception rooms to the nursery.
Jennifer takes a personal approach to working with clients and draws inspiration from historical souces, family albums and current cultural trends to produce murals or artwork that is vibrant, delicate or just plain fun.
Jennifer has undertaken several large ceiling projects at Fa'Side castle, Kinlochaline Castle, Annecy in France, Glen Shee and Castle of Park. When the Minstrel Gallery at Castle of Park was re-instated Jennifer was asked to go back and give it a traditional design.
